Chernobyl
How is it ok to make a horror film that turns the victims of the 1986 chernobyl disaster into monsters!??? There are REAL people alive today who were affected by this. Imagine your loved one was born with severe deformities because of this terrible incident and then some jerk makes a mockery of that pain and demonizes them for it. Turns them into horror film villains!
WTF society, how is this ok?
And why are we, as human beings, still perusing nuclear power? Some things just shouldn’t be played with.
Oil pastels on canvas
I normally draw this kind of stuff in a sketchbook so this is kind of about the prestige of canvas. sketch on a canvas and it’s a finished work! Easy ;)
Collage- paint on advertisements, a piece of newspaper and a deconstructed canvas.
It’s about fictional reality Vs reality. It’s about value. It’s about feeling left out of a society that doesn’t even exist. And how quaint it is to discuss these topics over a cup of coffee like real bohemians.
I suck at relationships. I should have been a guy- Tibby
No. A guy wouldn’t care about sucking at relationships- Lena
From the sisterhood of the traveling pants part 2
As much as I like this quote and it fits my life right now :/, I have to wonder why it is that men wouldn’t care about sucking at relationships…I think guys care. Part of the tough guise? And why Is it perceived that it’s be easier to be male; to be unemotional and less caring? Why are these traits “male”?
Collages in a book.
It’s funny to me when corporations use someone else’s ingenuity, bravery, and success to sell their products.
Not in a funny ha ha kind of way either.
Breanna Conley, a graduate of Brooks institue and a friend of Marcelles Murdock, took these wonderful photos of us a few months ago :) She did an amazing job! I liked the idea of doing a photo shoot with a significant other because so often love is acted out by people who don’t know each other and I’m happy to be a part of a real expression of love and kindness.
WTF Ted Lawson. He only uses the female form ( mostly nude and sometimes pre pubescent) to depict…what about women? What does it depict to you? Why does he use females to talk about the human body? Why does he fetishize the female form, animalize, dehumanize it as has been so many times in advertising and popular culture? Why are he and the values produced by his work accepted and even promoted in the art community?
He was Promoted by Hi Fructose magazine so a WTF shout out goes out to them as well.
Terrence McKenna- we have to stop consuming our culture. We have to create culture.
